Would you Like to Prevent Cancer and Learn How to Live in a Healthy Home?
I think you will want to know about the following information, even though it sounds a little generic, just think about it.... Everyday...you take care of your children and grandchildren, love them and pray they stay out of harm's way... ...Yet, like most parents, you probably don't know that everyday you dowse them (and yourself) with the same controversial, corrosive ingredients found in brake fluid, degreasers and anti-freeze. Soaps, shampoos, bubble baths and cosmetics are loaded with such chemicals...
Could this be another tobacco scandal?
Would you wash your child's (or your own) hair and brush those little teeth with brake fluid, engine degreaser or anti-freeze? You probably are and don't know it! This is no JOKE, NOT A HYPE! ITS FOR REAL!
1965 to 1982 over 4 million distinct chemical compounds formulated. At least 250,000 new formulations created annually since then.
Approximately 3,000 chemicals are added to our foods.
700 chemicals have been found in our drinking water.
400 have been identified in human tissue.
Over 500 can be found under kitchen sinks
or in the laundry rooms of American homes.
Over 800 neurotoxic chemical compounds
are used in the cosmetics and perfume industries.
As reported in the Boston Globe Sen. Ted Kennedy stated that Congress has identified more than 125 controversial ingredients available in cosmetics that are suspected of causing cancer, others birth defects OSHA, the Occupational Safety and Health Association has stated that there are at least 884 ingredients in personal care products that could cause cancer.
A list of the most common, questionable and controversial ingredients you can find in your personal care products:
Alcohol, Lanolin , Alpha Hydroxy Acid , Mineral Oil , Aluminum, Petrolatum ,Bar Soap (Animal fat and Lye)
Propylene Glycol, Bentonite or Kaolin, Sodium Chloride, Collagen and Elastin, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate & cocoamide DEA, MEA diethanolamine, TEA, triethanolamine, lanolin, oxybenzene, oxybenzone, petrolatum, mineral oil, coal tar, PEG, PG, polyethylene glycol,(as reported on CBS News) Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Fluoride, Talc, Carageenan, Glycerin, Parabens,. and more.....
Before you dismiss this, go to your bathroom and check some labels. You'll find Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Propylene Glycol, parabens, mineral oils (not to mention dozens of other chemicals) in tooth pastes, conditioners, cosmetics, shampoos, lotions and many other common products... ..you and your loved ones use several times, every day. Could these ingredients possibly have any long term side effects?
•WHY is the rate of cancer soaring? •WHY is the rate of heart disease soaring? •WHERE did Alzheimer's disease come from? •WHY do so many people need glasses or contacts? •WHY does the USA lead the world in the proliferation (increased rate of incidence) of degenerative disease? •WHAT does the USA spend a TRILLION dollars annually on health care for anyway? Shouldn't overall health be getting better?
There is something going on...and it's not pretty. When you know the facts about what these chemicals found in our everyday products are and where they come from and what what they cause. ...you'll be shocked... and then you should get angry.
The tobacco industry faces monumental scandal. And it's NOT only about what they knew regarding tobacco use...but, WHEN did they know it?
Whether it's 10 years from now or 20 or 30 - if producers of personal care items get called on the carpet to account for the use of these chemicals, will we be asking the same questions - WHEN did they know it?
The simple truth is... we already know it! These chemicals are found in industrial compounds and their Material Safety Data Sheets warn of cancer causing side effects, extreme skin irritants, etc.
There's even a medial study that shows exposure can retard eye development in young mammals.
Could this possibly include our children? Hmmm... WAKE UP AMERICA!
The American Cancer Society says that 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will develop cancer in their lifetime. It is an unbelievable epidemic.
Dr. Samuel Epstein, M.D. and Professor Environmental Science. University of Illinois School of Public Health. recently warned that a major cosmetic and toiletry ingredient poses avoidable cancer risks. "Lifelong use of these products thus clearly poses avoidable cancer risks to the great majority of U.S. consumers, particularly infants and young children."
Is there an alternative? CBS News thinks so too! In a February, 1998 edition of CBS Good Morning News with Roberta Baskin, Dr. Sam Epstein, FDA Director John Bailey and the President of a personal care manufacturer were interviewed.
Find out what's in your bathroom. Compare the labels. You may find a shock!
